Laura Antoniou Biography Laura Antoniou is queer Jewish nerd who has established herself as a pioneering figure in contemporary erotic fiction and BDSM literature. She is best known as the author of The Marketplace series, a groundbreaking collection of six BDSM-themed novels. The series also inspired No Safewords, two volumes of fan fiction set within that world.  Antoniou's literary and educational career extends far beyond her fiction writing. She is also known for her work as an editor and pioneer on the field of contemporary erotic fiction and in particular as editor of lesbian erotica anthologies including the three-volume Leather Women series. In addition, she has been a regular speaker at conventions and schools for over 30 years, teaching about alt-sex relationships and various nerdy interests like historic or fantasy cooking. Her work has been translated into Spanish, German, Hebrew, Japanese and Korean, demonstrating the international reach and impact of her writing. Beyond The Marketplace series, Antoniou has published collections including Some Women, By Her Subdued, No Other Tribute, and a collection of her own short stories and essays titled The Catalyst and Other Works. Notable Awards The Killer Wore Leather, a comedy murder mystery set at a BDSM convention was a finalist for the 2013 Lambda Literary Award, and won the 2013 Rainbow Book Awards for best mystery.
